VOLCANOES SAFARIS

Culture & Wildlife in Uganda

This 5-night journey takes guests from the deep jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to the open savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Much more than a chance to trek the majestic mountain gorillas – spot lion and leopard, and even trek our closest living relatives: the chimpanzees. Join us on this Volcanoes Safaris journey, unfathomable beauty, culture, and wildlife awaits!

5 MAY

Your Volcanoes Safaris representative will welcome you upon arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer you to your hotel. If guests arrive prior to midday we are able to take everybody on a city tour of Kampala. Overnight at Protea Entebbe (Dinner not included)

6 MAY

After a hearty breakfast, we will set off for a morning departure to EBB to board a regional flight to Kihihi airstrip, approximately 1.5 hours from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After checking-in to our newly refurbished Bwindi Lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch and then embark on a community walk during which you’ll witness incredible views, meet locals, and try the regional drink of choice – banana beer. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Lodge.

7 MAY

Early wake-up call and drive to the park headquarters by 7:30 am. This afternoon track the remarkable Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat, the dense and almost impenetrable Bwindi forest. On your way back from tracking the gorillas, stop off at Bwindi Bar to enjoy a refreshing beverage and support the local community. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Lodge.

8 MAY

Set-off on the 5-hour road transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Kyambura Gorge Lodge. This ground transfer passes through Queen Elizabeth National Park and Ishasa where lucky guests may spot lion, leopard, and elephant. Dinner and overnight at Kyambura Gorge Lodge.

9 MAY

This morning trek our closest living relatives – the chimpanzees. This activity can take from 3-5 hours. After chimpanzee trekking, visit the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust’s coffee plantation to learn about the coffee-making process from bean to cup.

10 MAY

Depart Kyambura Gorge Lodge after breakfast in order catch a small plane back to Entebbe for your international departure. End of Services.
